Merauke agarwood does not offer much when gently heated, it is only when you subject it to very high temperatures and even a hot charcoal that it releases a beautiful woody and oudy sweet smoke that lingers in the air for a very long time. This is one of the materials that doesn’t perform on low heat, where its scent is barely detectable.
