apologies on the hiatus from writing… there had just been too much to do, but no worries, I’ve not forgotten that I still run this website 🙂
The Duan Wu Festival, more commonly known as the Dragon Boat festival had just past, and the day it self, the 5th of the 5th Lunar Month, is the chinese Summer Solstice, which they call it the 夏至, is the day when the “Yang” energy is at its peak, rendering it the best day to make or burn incense.
As such, as an “annual” pilgrimage of some sort, I had spent a couple of months gathering and preparing materials so that the “highest -end” KZ incense can be made on that day itself. All hand selected, processed premium materials, hand ground, no mass production, no huge quantities, and only available once a year, the KZ Zen Moon Incense and a new Gokuhin Zen Moon Incense.
This year’s Zen Moon incense, made in the same formulation and methods as the previously available Zen Moon Incenses, has been tweaked slightly to give a fuller presence, sweeter, still retaining the quietness and gentleness. This year’s formulation uses predominantly Nhatrang material to achieve the deeper sweetness and a darker background. Only 23 grams made.
Gokuhin Zen Moon is an ultra luxurious stick, based on the core formulation of Zen Moon, but now heightened with natural misk (5%) and a 10% white kyara content. The white kyara is presented in this incense as a refined spiciness, light peppery ethereal touch that leads on a silvery transient musk note that morphs into woodiness. Preferentially recommended for natural misk lovers. Only 16 grams made.
*edit ~~ both are out of stock already :)~~
